Cosmology is now more like a religion than science. Its obsession and basis in abstract math has produced a new Holy Trinity - black holes, dark matter, and dark energy!
Taxpayers money is disappearing into these very real black holes!

At the risk of giving away my pet theory, I once wrote to one of the authors of this "electric universe" business. I feel the blast at Tunguska in Siberia was due to this discharge phenomenon. I think as the body (whatever it was) neared the surface there was staggering electrical potential developing. An arc occurred and destroyed the object. It explains the massive energy release as well as the lack of a crater.

@Kenzofeis "... the fields themselves may keep the "matter" afloat, or allow the contraction" which sums to "dependent on conditions".
That small amounts of "matter" forms lumps are then not much more than a "tunneling effect" where the given circumstance, the statistical weighing of conditions against each other, allows it. Sort of a statistical loophole.
-
@Kenzofeis The use of the word "fields" was perhaps a bit misleading, as these can form NASA's famous "magnetic ropes". What others call Birkeland currents, which is what these fields result in when trying to equal out the differences.
It is these currents that will seek to shorten themselves, but the fields themselves may keep the "matter" afloat, or allow the contraction - as observed with dust in charged atmosphere and yada yada.
-
@soupdragon42 A long and complicated train of thoughts ends in this: It is all about fields between all "matter" attempting to shorten themselves to provide more efficient "trade", and it achieves this unless hindered by other forces.
Due to a limited amount of "matter" in the volume of space, this results in uneven contractions of available "matter".
It also means that one big lump of "matter" will have a lot of attraction, it will also seek equilibrium or a "cool state" by itself.

@heffenuts I think it will be found that the double slit experiment is only about a wave, there is no particle.
How can it be, that the only electromagnetic emanation in the form of a "particle" is the light we see?
-
@aerodynamic1 Your theory is plausible... I do not think the object was destroyed. I think it was the planet Mars coming too close to earth. Mars' orbit has not always been as it is. Assuming that it has been always as it is, is foolish. An electrical discharge between Mars and earth would be enormous given the size of the two. Ancient man was terrified of Mars. Why? It's just a barely reddish dot in the sky. Not always so. Every 108 yrs. Mars used to come very close and cause such things.

Ignore it and it'll go away. Forget about it and so will they. Must have been a glitch. Our expensive equipment lying again. I thought science was about seeking answers to the questions that come up not defending the old and tried not true. Newtonian physics will only get you so far, therefore something else has to interacting NASA has done enough to know this is truth, but they are to pigheaded to admit to it and much more. Makes you wonder why doesn't it!

I wonder if the double slit experiment can be explained via the plasma cosmoloical framework?

Excellent video on the dynamic nature of comets

It's well known that commets tend to have two tails: One consisting of neutral particles, the other consisting of plasma, influenced by the Sun's magnetic field.

@soupdragon42 I see, I thought I saw some resemblance. I have learned a lot from them too.
soupdragon, do you frequent commonsensescience. o r g?

@anuraganimax I have not been there for a while, but it is an excellent resource.

Electric Universe, or Electromagnetic. I was thinking that gravity is more like a side-effect of electromagnetism

Gravity will probably turn out to be some second or third order EM effect, along the lines of, perhaps, some kind of dipolar effect.
