i have the full episodes from 1983 - 1992 & 1993 many episodes in a better quality ^^ but i hate GL.

look they wrote Floyd,Justin marler,gracie midleton,hillary bauer,maureen readorn out. WHY ? LOL they bring these hardcore storyline out with phillip i not alan's son than justin is the father and 20 episodes later they wrote justin out. WHY? Why was they producer so stupid ?

@laminage I think you are 100 percent right. This still is the defining moment in Phillip's life and informs his life the way choosing his family legacy over Hope defines Alan's.

I still remembered that line about missing his own mother's funeral from when it originally aired. It just tears into you.

Isn't it kind of ironic. Phillip's real mother is named Jackie short for Jacqueline, and Jacqueline Tskirkin plays Emma.

Guiding Light used to have great story lines and great production value. I hate the way they film the show now. Everything looks and sounds like a high school production... the sets are bad the sound editing sucks! Boy they sure cut the budget in the production these days!

Chris Bernau, the original Alan. He had to leave GL in 1988 due to illness. He died in 1989.

You know what would have been good. If Alan hadn't been so d@mned selfish, he would have encouraged Phillip to have a relationship with Justin. Maybe he would have been happier. I think that's why he doesn't have a problem with Olivia & Natalia. He sees that Emma is having the Childhood that only wished he could have had. She's growing up in a happy stable environment with two people who love her very much and don't have the same "scars" that the rest of the Spauldings have.

I just realized something. Alan is quite the liar. I know that if he told Phillip that his "real" son died and he "bought" Phillip on the Black Market it would have also destroyed him.
