Melody Pond/11 'I refuse to kill the man i love'

So here's my contribution to episode 13. I must admit, i'm not completely happy with the way this turned out - i'm sure i could have done something to make it better, but this'll have to do.

I absolutley loved the last episode, particularly as i thought river wasn't really going to get married. (there will probably be those who argue it isn't a real marriage, but i don't care - it still happened in my eyes).

I think Alex Kingston should win all the awards for this as she was just fantastic in this.

And i loved how the Doctor chose to marry River, when, if you think about it, he didn't actually have to. But he knew how much it would mean to her, so he chose to commit himself to it.

Anyway, enough of me babbling!

One of the things I like about Doctor Who is that they cast a middle-age woman to play River. Alex Kingston, believe it or not, is 49 years old. In the U.S., they would have cast like a twenty year old to play the same role. Thank god for British television. <3

Alex made me cry in this "...and by no one more than me" "more than anything in the universe?" "yes" I was in floods of tears :'( I love Alex so much and she NEEDS to win an award for this episode alone

@CasualtyFan101 I agree. What i love most about Alex's performance here, is that she doesn't 'waste her tears' so to speak. She could have had River sobbing and crying, but she restrained from doing so, therefore when the moment came when we saw River shed that single tear, it was all the more powerful! She's brought so much depth and beauty to her character - to every character she's played - that i think the day Alex leaves the show for good will be a very dark day indeed.
