PLM + vagabond mini PCB outdoors wind test

This isn't much of a review as there is already a review of the plm on youtube. This video tries to demonstrate how the plm would handle itself outdoors while on location. Wind will be a very big factor to worry about since the PLM is super efficient at harnessing the wind so sandbags will be a must with this setup. The strobe is an elinchrom d-lite 4 which is hooked up to a vagabond mini lithium, PCB's newest battery which runs on lithium ion. Unfortunately, multiple d-lite's cannot be used with the vagabond mini due to the bi-voltage nature of the strobe. They will work with the Vagabond II however that is 18.6 lbs compared to vagabond mini's 3.6 lbs. On full power, expect 455 shots or about 2-3 hours worth of shooting.

@c2thew Sorry I asked too early. I saw the brand at the end of the video. I use the same brand and it's pretty good but AB is a little better.

@Ronnelsky AB and elinchrom both have their advantages. elinchrom wins in light consistency throughout the color range. do a test for yourself with the alienbees strobe at low power and one at full power. You will notice a color shift that will affect the final image. elinchrom does have some slight shifting, but alienbees is KNOWN for that. The einstein on the other hand (also what i have) does not suffer from this and is superior then elinchrom strobes.

Alienbees are know for color shift? Been running PCB lights for 9 years, and have 3 whitelightning and 5 aliens bees, shooting in excess of 40,000 frames a year. Never noticed a color shift. If its that slight, I am not worried about it!

Glad to see the Vega mini being used on something other than AB/WL I have the Calumet Genesis 400. Im going to order mine on payday
