I played the shareware Doom v1.0 back in 1994 - 1996 on the old 40 MHz computer. I remember all of it - especially the weird glitches.
I remember the save game feature did not work correctly for some reason. Once you loaded a game, some switches in the level would stop working. Example: e1m5 - the switch in the slime pool with the two lowering pillars that opens the large door to the rest of the level.
