  • the shaky camera thing only adds to the unduplicatible flavor of the transmission sounds towards the end of the video. yeah, i drive an 09 g8.....but its so perfect and sterile that it takes away from unrefined rawness of what musle cars are all about. driving my car is like having a welltrimed beard and mustache. that amx is like not shaving for a month...kinda like being able to strike a match off your face. who would you rather be? clint eastwood, or sigfried and roy?

  • @powerwindow2 Haha, are you a writer? Very nice... This was one of my first tries with the car video "production". The camera work sucks out loud. Ya, the G8 was Pontiac beginning to reclaim some kind of identity after the Aztec and the, ahem, gto.

PMD led Buick in sales, and was killed. I guess Buick lives on because GM cares more about Chinese consumers than it does about its own heritage. Soulless.

  • @powerwindow2 I want to drive my 68 Tempest through the plate glass at GM headquarters and be like the Joker- "You used to be number one! What happened? Your balls drop off?"

  • my dad sold his AMX before i was born and i hate him for it.......

  • @Bubbiebrewster I can relate. My Dad had a 65 GTO and then a 69, followed by a early 70's Firebird Formula. I only got to see them in pictures. Thanks, Dad!

  • I had a '68 (03025) & a '69 (9000 something) in 80's. The '70 was my favorite. If I remember right, the books say only 19,000+ were made during the 3 year production run. When they were around during the day I would always look inside of 'em to see what the AMX number was (each one had a number plate on the dash). I definately remember seeing a '70 with a tag showing 21,000 something.

  • Thanks for looking at the video. The 19K number you refer to sounds like the same information that I found when briefly researching this car. What is remarkable is that I have not seen another AMC since posting this video like a year ago. I have seen multiple vintage Stingrays and GTO's, which must be more abundant- at least around here.

  • Enjoyed the video. If you or anyone else ever wants a AMX stop by my site at planethoustonamx have been driving nothing but AMCs since 1976, 367 so far, 14 currently including AMXs & Javelins driven daily in Houston. Yup 4116 70's made my estimate less than 1000 exist. See production/tech file on my site for breakdowns. I think your camera work is great, not easy to bang thru gears while filming & hats off to other cameraman too. Eddie Stakes

  • I restored my '70 , in the early '80's... STOCK & show quality..#17454 , Madator Red 390 auto..A realllllly nice ride..It was sold to a guy in Orillia, Ontario, Canada ... If ya got any info. to the whereabouts of this car, I'll pay a finders fee... THX

Oh yeah, still got an original ignition key, lol... jus' drive it away ...Hmmmmmm

  • awesome.

  • I guess I should of said 'when they were around back in the day'. That high number 70 AMX I saw was in the late '70s.
