as for who's the best driver, i don't think we can compare across ages. What Jackie Stewart drove is not the same animal as what Gilles Villeneuve drove, and both are very different from what Hakkinen and Schumacher are driving here. The two of them were certainly at the top of this particular age of F1, no question. but to say they were better than Senna or Villeneuve or Prost - their cars were so different it was practically a different sport.

@puju1234 Vettel was pretty handy when he was with Toro Rosso, that was hardly the best car out there.

@500bhpcossie The era I call "the last great epic F1 era" is the Shumacher vs Hakkinen one. So it ends in 2001 (maybe in 2000 cause in 2001 McLaren was suffering from electronics problems and the game wasn't fair). Yes, 2011 season is nice because there are a lot of overtakes but I preferred the real ones (with hands and feet, not with a button)
