It's hard to believe how much change there is in people's taste over the years. I like both these versions, but I like Frankie's best. It's hard to believe it didn't chart. Thanks for posting!

Jolson was Frankie's idol and inspiration. He tells a story about ditching school to see Jolson perform when he was a kid. And there is also a book about Jolie that quotes him as saying after hearing about some of Frankie's early performances that this kid is so good he's going to put everybody else out of work.
