This 30 second spot was one of many featuring a catchy tune by Patti Labelle promoting the city of Philadelphia during the mid 1980s. This spot aired in 1985. Note the dated "brick" phone carried by the power businesswoman. It's actually smaller than I would have expected for 1985. I'll bet that phone cost $2000+ in 1985 dollars!

  • AHHHHH finally!!! I been searching for this for years I live in Philly and was born and raised here. There was a longer version tho. If you have it or anyone could track it down it would be awesome. Damn I miss the 80's lol I had the absolute best childhood. If your childhood or early teen years were not spent in the 80's YOU MISSED OUT ON SOOOO MUCH!!!!

  • I've visited Philly twice, spent there 10 months. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this city. I wanna go back there :(

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of Philadelphia, Get To Know Us! With Patti LaBelle Video Commercial From 1985.

  • ATOM AND HIS PACKAGE

  • Wow!

    I forgot about this.

Jingle will be stuck in my head for awhile now. ;)

  • I have alwasys loved this commercial and now living in Connecticut...it brings me back everytime

  • @njplr.......the longer version had a few flyers (Sutter and Poulin were two of them) joking with the refs in the concourse of the spectrum when they were showing scene's around town. Cant find it on here

  • Representing Philly all day!! Loved this commercial growing up...was the best to grow up in Philly in the 80's

  • @ShangoJamal THAT'S the version I was looking for! For years, they always played it before each film at the Ritz Theater, along with the previews! Is that posted anywhere? I can hear Patti singing "Everybody to our party..."!

  • OMG! Thanks for posting this! I remember this commercial. Reminds me of the Philly I grew up on (in the 80s)..miss that Philly. I've lived in MD for 15 years now but I always tell people I'm FROM Philly..LOL

  • Ahh finally someone found this and put up!!!! I remember this so much from my childhood haha. Grew up there from 80 to 89 and I always remember this commercial.

  • great tune...maybe it was different then but the Philly I know now?.?...?lol

  • I found this commercial at the beginning of my Live Aid concert tape I purchased in La Puente in August 2008.

  • I LOVE PHILADELPHIA

  • people say that the 80's were cheesy they weren't they were just optimistic...there is a difference

  • This was one of sevral versions of this commercial. I seem to recall th eone that began

YOU CAN'T HELP DANCING TO OUR HEARTBEAT, AND SINGING TO OUR SONG, FEEL THAT PHILADELPHIA SPIRIT, COME ON ALOOONG (Do-Wop, Do-Wop)...

  • it really is electric in the air you can see lil crackles all over like sparks pew pow the magic of Brotherly Love

  • I remember when they premiered this spot (the long version) on A.M. Philadelphia with Wally Kennedy. It actually made me cry it was so good, and I wasn't alone. The audience actually gave it a standing ovation. I cannot understand why the Visitor's Bureau and/or Convention Center can't get it together and do another spot that captures the same energy this one did. The pajama campaign? Yuck. The "with love" campaign is cute but not exciting.

  • I remember this entire commercial.........that had a few of the 80's flyers, Ron Sutter was one of them, walking through the Spectrum concourse for a split second. There were a few different commercials for this.

  • Double dutch, classic.

  • you're crazy, i'm PROUD!

  • well, that's embarrassing.
