Game Overview: Ougen Musou Kyoku

It's that Umineko fightan game. I failed to mention that all characters have their own unique ability that activates on a normal standing switchout or in Metaworld where both abilites are active. Battler regens health, Eva gives a damage boost, etc. etc.

Also, not even a few minutes afterward, I handed the hard AI it's ass on a silver platter with Kanon/Lucifer along with utilizing Attack Touch. Then again, my wins against the Hard AI are very sporatic. The computer also has some limitations, but it can do monumentally stupid things, or just block everything you thow at it as it just counters you to death which depends on the characters it uses (and your current skill level).

Of course CPUs can't utilizy the player made combos that reach some crazy numbers, combos which I can never memorize as I'm a lousy fightan game player.

People who have read all the VNs up till this point will understand more references than I'll ever figure out.

Also, the game's BGM is uncompressed in it's MP3 format.

What was it that you needed to access the pause menus during gameplay?

You'll need a Start Button which is only avaliable to a controller, or something that can edit the keyboard keys. You can't access them normally with the keyboard.

Only Calamity Trigger has a PC port. Continuum Shift only has an Arcade Rip, which in my opinion isn't very good because keyboard controls have a distadvantage. It's very difficult to pull off half-circle moves (but 360s work wonders) because there is an instance where 3 keys are pressed at once where the game says it isn't a half circle any more, or at least that's my experience.

I use a gamepad for the PC though. Why don't you hook up a 360 controller/some generic gamepad to your PC?

Don't have the cash, or the need really. I don't play these game all that often, so it's kind of a waste to do so. Besides, I've been playing fighters on the keyboard for a while, so I'm used to it. It's just that the game itself doesn't allow for reconfiguration of the keys (or have shoddy input detection). I do have a semi-controller, my PSP. It works well with BB:CS, but not with Ougen Musou Kyoku since it doesn't allow me to do any specials whatsoever.

I recommend you play the sound novels, as they're incredibly well-written and have an amazing soundtrack. Yeah, the art is horrible, but you'll get used to it. I can't even count the number of Crowning Moments of Awesome in the series because there's so many. Also, Umineko's murders make Higurashi's look like child's play.

As for the game itself, I hope a patch comes that fixes all the errors and adds more characters. I know for certain that an English patch from Witch Hunt is coming.
