Bukowski represents courage to me. He makes me feel good about what I am trying to do with my art. He says to me "keep going for it" no matter what. Fuck the galleries and the critics, you don't like my art??? good! Ignorance is bliss. I don't want approval, I don't sell out...my art is real, true...I don't make art so you'll buy it, I make it for me and if you happen to like it, then you get the message...if not ...it's ok.Bukowski didn't care and that's what so great about him. That's exactly it. That's the way that I want to see art. Not "Art", with a capital A, but art. Art that supports the blood, bones, brain. Art that is discharged after a day of work.

Words, or drawings in eye-liner, old crayon, bodily fluid. Art as a testament to you and your little life. Even if it'll never make you a cent, even if it's a heretical act to our capitalist world, to spend time on something that makes you no gain. You'll do it anyway, anyhow. Godspeed my friend.
