Mera Peak is 6476m high trekking peak which enough to be seriously challenging but does not require serious mountaineering skills being one of the least demanding peaks of this altitude. This popular peak; neck high to the famous Himalayan giants. The trek beckons experienced mountaineers and novice enthusiasts alike. The climb takes in Mera La Pass (5414), a giant glacier at base camp, some tricky crevices to negotiate, and a classic snow ridge ascent to the summit. The approach from Mera La is gradual and skirts the central summit then continues along to the main Northern summit for the prize of the exhilarating panorama of the Eastern Nepal Himalayas- including some of the mighty 8000ers Everest, Cho-Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga. Being so lofty, reaching the summit really feels like an achievement. The trek from Lukla to base camp passes fascinating Sherpa villages and has outstanding mountain scenery all along the trail.
