I would have loved to attend, but just couldn't as we were on our annual family vacation. Ironically, we were at Disney World Orlando which I first visited when it opened in the summer of 1971, so it was a personal '40th reunion' of sorts for me as well. I thought of my hometown childhood-to-early-adulthood friends a lot that weekend. While I didn't graduate from PHS (I transferred to St. Joseph's HS in Metuchen NJ my junior year) I always remember my Plainfield Cedarbrook-Washington-Hubbard school years and the 'Queen City' friends and the families I grew up with (I moved to Tejas in 1983 at age 29). It's nice that we have something like the web and YT and FB to re-connect with so we can share old memories and new experiences, yes? When I look at FB pictures of my childhood friends, I can see the fellow-child-teenager-young adult I have memories of in their faces, even though we are in the autumn of our lives. 40 YEARS since HIGH SCHOOL?! OMG! This is a time frame that only my PARENTS used to have to experience and deal with! Still, here I and we are. No time like the present, yes? So, with that in mind, here's my plan for myself and a friendly challenge to all my 1971 HS grad contemporaries. Call it the '60-70-80 plan', okay? 1. I plan to get some things I need to 'get together' by age 60 (physical-mental-financial-'spiritual', etc.). 2. I am going to ROCK and RETIRE! and make my contribution I've always wanted to make to the world during my 60's-70's (as soon as I figure out what I want to be when I 'grow up', of course! lol). 3. I'll be ready to 'check out' in my 80's (but I'll take more!). Anybody with me? Yes?! Then 'Onward! Thru the FOG!' and 'All the BEST!' to you and yours, y'all! Let's keep in touch, okay?! peace, billyjinsa ;-)
PS-'Winds of Change' just seemed like the right song to attach to this vid. It's always moved me since I first heard it in, yes, you guessed it: 1971. NJoy!
