Reverend Billy and Savitri D had a public conversation with Chicken John Rinaldi on October 2nd 2007. In this clip, Reverend Billy talks about the conflict between capitalism and creativity. Artists go to a city to create art and community. When they are successful, capital comes to town, rents and property values go up, and the artists are priced out of the town. Repeat. The good Reverend then talks about how this phenomenon led him to his street performances, which are the seams between corporations and public space.
