Wayne has no voice in the last six or seven years. He forces out a gravely sore throat sound to his famous songs with no smoothness to it. He is great here from the early eighties. His recordings and live performances from the 1960's through the 1990's are his finest. . He was still using his entire upper range. This song did not require it.

I am sure you are right. I remember this outfit from that time period. Also, the song. I heard him do this song for the first time at the Sands.
He was amazing, and still is an amazing performer.
