  • I've always liked this guy, not only because he's a good teacher, but also because he's got an awesome Scottish accent.

  • @1nviaggio I am new to all this. I was wondering where in the bible does it say peter is the head so I can tell my brother who says that he is NOT the head.

  • Excellent teaching, thank you God for your use of Pastor Begg for your glory.

  • The religion of Jesus Christ means that a man is delivered from sin into something which makes him forget all about himself. The trick of pseudo-evangelism is that it drives a man into concentrated interest in himself. The curse of much modern religion is that it makes us desperately interested in ourselves, overweeningly concerned about our own whiteness.

  • @9nytuber I appreciate your suggestion and I do read the Bible on my own. At the same time, I keep in mind that Im not a theologian. So I gladly rely on the teachings of scholarly Christian leaders and their Tradition to help me understand the context of various books of the Bible. I firmly believe in the Truth found in Scripture AND in the those traditions that the early Christians established that the Catholic Church has preserved and safeguarded thru the centuries (2 Thessalonians 2:13-17).

  • Hm, not sure scripture says that Peter is the head of Apostles? You know, it may be worth studying the Bible completely on your own, without any form of theology -RC or otherwise pre-informing ur mind. What I mean is, to rid urself temporarily of any and everything u've learnt/heard/known in d past, do a fresh study, just urself & God alone and see what u come up with. I say this not to be offensive/patronising or anything, but completely as a loving suggestion as 1 who's tried d same. Gd Night

  • @1nviaggio, thanx. It isn't inconsistent at all cos I agree (just not in d text in question Matt 16&18) that God conferred (not confers) special auth to d apostles -to pen scripture in it's entirerity and t/b d 'founders' in d sense of setting up d 1st century xtian FELLOWSHIPS (not d founders of d body of Christ in d sense of they or us being the birthers of d Church -which no man except Christ can be). Since that task was done & scripture is closed, so did d 'gift' & whole point of Apostles.
