They modeled the robot after Honda's real life robot Asimo. This isn't steampunk, a commercial product is not going to have exposed gears and things whirring around. The robot is a Home-aid machine for elderly people. They want it to be appear unassuming and be easy to communicate with. You seem to think they would just put Siri in a GUNDAM and then put it to work in peoples homes.

The voice is "too human" and understands voice commands too easily. Also, it's too obvioulsy fake. The "suit" needs more detail, i.e. fasteners, hatches, scratches or wear maybe. And to be less "square", the CG robots in iRobot were more realistic that this "real" suit. I hope this is just a preliminary...

That robot could be dismantled very easily. Besides you could just lock it in the basement or garage. It don't care just like siri don't care.
