This is a metaphor for people who have suffered a traumatic life event. Root shock is a term borrowed from plant botany. The peepal tree is an Indian tree often thought as a depository of souls. The Red Cross is an international organziation active in disaster response. The film attempts to show how people lose their roots (social, cultural, spiritual) after a major disaster, and how through a period of time and the care of others they may come together with others in similar circumstances and re-establish their roots---thus becoming a stronger survivor.
