If you lose too much weight too fast you can lose muscle mass. Depends are your diet and how much protein you intake and how you work out. If you do weight lifting its less likely.

Being ill makes you lose weight, i dont know why that is but it happens to everyone.

There's nothing wrong with their diet. It's come out recently that TBL-US has been doing things like dehydration and padding the contestants with plastic bags during exercise and other times to make them loose more weight.
