  • There is a lead sheet being used (by everyone but the banjo player) with the melody and chord changes. For the most part, this is simply used as a structural guide and the piece is roughly improvised over that structure, with some cross-talk during solos to keep everything on track.

  • So was this piece all played with no need of sheet music, just the basic knowledge of the melody? Well done by the way. I love King Oliver's Canal Street Blues.
