Ben Hernstrom's entry for the 3rd Annual Public Domain Private Dominion - The Pittsburgh Creative Commons Film Festival.
It uses footage from 25 Hour Day, a public domain film dealing with the efforts of the soldiers in Viet Nam. Featuring Robert McNamara.

  • thank you! i'm very interested in how digital technologies affect how we represent ourselves and each other and how they might, through errors/failures/manipulations, show us sides of ourselves we might not otherwise see or even how the technologies might interpret us.

  • This is the best use of datamoshing I've come across. There's a lot of potential in the technique for communicating psychology, and exploring ideas regarding change, and reality. And I think you've done this effectively in this film. It's not so often that datamoshing is more than a technical exercise, or, at a worst, a gimmick; it is neither here. Thank you, I look forward to seeing more work of yours.

  • i like the video overall, but i didnt like the zooming/panning, and the way the soundtrack starts and stops was a weak point for me
