"Blow Your Whistle" by Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers is on 7" vinyl along with "If It Ain't Funky". The record is under "The Soul Searchers". Great break.

Chuck Brown (born 1936) is a jazz guitarist and singer who is affectionately called "The Godfather of Go-go". Go-go is a subgenre of funk music developed in and around Washington, D.C. in the mid- and late 1970s. While its musical classification, influences, and origins are debated, Brown is regarded as the fundamental force behind the creation of go-go music.

  • it's all about Eve

  • My God, this brings back memories! In the summer of 1974 I played organ and sang in a soul cover band in Bedford-Stuyvesant known as the "New Experience." Trumpeter Stence Dinsmore and I were the only white members of the band. I had been recruited by a high-school classmate, saxophonist Earl Steven Bannister. We played this song at block parties and Prospect Park showcases. Those were really fun shows, at least for me. Anyone who played in the New Experience should write me here!
