Retro Sofia

The Old town of Sofia - the capital of the Bulgarian Kingdom, known also as "Second Wien", a peaceful little town, known with its high level-cultural and industrial progress, and one of the highest standarts of living before the Second World War and the soviet occupation. The most of the center is destroyed by the american attacks in 1944, and rebuilt by the communists, although hopefully it s possible to see some of those buildings in the city center today.

little town would mean around 10 000 people

Sofia had 300 000 around the mid 30-ies thus it is city.

Very interesting retrospective! Beautiful old buildings in Sophia (City of Wisdom)! I wonder why there are no photos of the synagogue just 100 metres from the mosque? The synagogue building is much nicer. Is it built later or what?
