Russell Glasser discusses tactics for atheist outreach. Topics covered will include when and why to speak up, knowing your audience, general principles for dealing with theistic arguments, and how to get attention.

Russell Glasser received an MS degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas. He is a lifelong atheist, and has been a member of the Atheist Community of Austin since 1999.

During that time, Russell has been producer, host, and co-host on "The Atheist Experience," a founding member of "The Non-Prophets," and a co-creator of the IronChariots.org wiki site with Matt Dillahunty.

  • "The same principle of logical laws, they are stolen from the Christian worldview. "

The logical laws are a consequence of reality, and should be the same from whatever worldview arrive at them. If they don't describe reality they are useless.

  • @AOH:

So what books and what verses in the Bible explain about redshift of distant galaxies or cosmic microwave background radiation?

The BBT says nothing about whether God is responsible for the expansion or not.

Care to deliberate on some of my other questions and comments? I'm especially interested in what it is you believe in if you don't understand what you believe in.

  • @me25422 Especially when he is giggling and nobody else is making a sound.

  • @Callirgos1 nice !

Right. When it comes down to it

    - I don't know Kung-Fu.

    - no one should be drinking snake poison

    - magic doesn't exist, even with special beads and whispering

    - there's no super daddy taking care of me ( and burning others )

  • @Callirgos1 and that is a great example of how a false belief can be troubling and detrimental and it may get your ass kicked. lolol

  • he is such a nerd! hahaha awesome!

  • @jdnieves

I like to think I know kung-fu when I'm only a yellow belt... It makes me feel much safer.

But the truth is I don't really know Kung-Fu. And admitting the truth means I can make better decisions about my life, specifically protecting it.

  • Athiest Evangelists? that's like saying it's so hot it's cold.

  • Interesting ministry. How can I get membership into this ministry? What is the cost or offering? Is there an atheist phone line I can dial to the atheist ministry with questions I may have about membership?

  • To "evangelize" is to "preach the gospel (good news)(of Jesus). So besides the meaning of Gospel, let's say I believe you. What good will that bring to me? So I really don't get what you trying to accomplish, becasue I feel I will be less of a person once I stop believing. BTW, I have face death a couple of times, in the street and in war, and I thank God for letting me know him, trust me, if feels so much better having Him when things get rough in life. How does it helps me stop believing?

  • @Griexxt Then sorry for the misunderstanding honestly, yes youtube can be a poor place to debate in some cases.

Well good then we are most likely on the same page in many ways.
