U2 opened the Echo Awards on the 21-02-09 with an outstanding performance of their new single 'Get On Your Boots'. This years Echo Awards took place in Berlin, and it was nearly 20 years ago when the band recorded their probably best album 'Achtung Baby' there.

Ok I dont understand a lick of German but the dude was announcing the song "get on your boots" and the chich butts in to help but says 03:07, did she just say "get on your knees"? I guess we now know where her mind's at

If u wanna know what they were saying at the beginning:

first they were just joking about being the best couple on German TV and so on...then they started to talk about U2 and that they recorded their album Achtung Baby 20 years ago right here in Berlin and that the band since then really have a special relationship to Berlin.

Ich muss schon sagen, dass die Eröffung durch U2 der absolute Knaller war! Das kam auf dem Bildschirm noch besser rüber als hier auf diesem mini Video. Eine geniale Performance, die U2 abgeliefert hat! (Dabei mochte ich den Song zuerst nicht, aber dieser großartige Auftritt hat mich total begeistert.)

Typisch U2! Einfach GENIAL, da kommt sofort Konzertstimmung auf ... Großes Kompliment an die Jungs!!!!!! Sie haben mich aus den Boots gerüttelt ... :-)))
