Homemade vegetable soup cooked in 6 minutes and ready to eat. I use my pressure cooker to quickly make a delicious and hearty vegetable soup. Fast and easy to do and you can make enough to freeze some for later. Lot of soup for very little time and effort invested.

  • Thanks for the video. How do you add chicken or beef to this soup?

  • @mrspatrickcampbell Hi there!

I pan fry or grill chicken breasts in advance and keep it in the freezer. If I'm going to add some to the soup I'll usually thaw what I need, cut it into pieces and drop it into the pressure cooker with the raw veggies. Mrs Cricket doesn't eat beef so that's not something that we put into our soup.

  • Love the video, but please don't run the water when you're peeling vegetables.

  • @slabandibar I was actually scrubbing the veggies with a plastic brillo pad. I needed water to do it. Besides I paid good for the water I used.

Tthe more water I use, the less of it there will be for the developers who want to turn my beautiful paradise into a concrete jungle. So actually I'm saving the environment from development by scrubbing my veggies with the water running. LOL! Have agood one.

  • what was the duration of alarm?

  • @BestZee You get the pressure cooker up to pressure and then let it cook for 6 minutes.

I've cooked it for 4 minutes before and that's not quite enough time to soften the carrots. I just made another batch of this soup the other night . I added some pieces of cooked chicken. It was so good! I had leftovers and it was even better the next day. Love this recipee!

  • Cool. I need to get me a pressure cooker like that. Are those better than the ones they sell on television that look like a crock pot?

  • I watched the video but It looks like its easier for me to just come over to your house for some...
