In response to the overwhelming reception, and seemingly endless debate, accompanying the unveiling of the Atlas Shrugged Movie trailer, we are proud to share with you this very special clip pulled directly from the film.

The scene shows steel maven, Henry Rearden (Grant Bowler), giving his wife Lillian (Rebecca Wisocky) a gift made from his controversial new metal.

  • @urdisturbing No, the point isn't that charity is necessarily bad, it's about how being charitable has being developed into a social stigma of giving to make yourself feel better about your acting on good intentions, not particularly in doing anything that does anything.

Henry acts to provide mankind with a cheaper, stronger metal that will benefit the world over as Bessemer did with his steel-making process, whilst his wife and her snobbish entourage just throw money at the poor.

  • Wow, that bracelet looked better than i imagined. I always pictured it to be some kind of gray chain-link monstrosity.. lol

  • im disapointed in the bracelet i pictured it small and slender with a almost magical green blue hew to it.

  • I really like the scene, but it doesn't reflect a little how I felt when I read that chapter. Of course I'm not a billionaire, but I think I saw myself in Rearden in so many ways I almost cried.

  • I like it in the book, Atlas Shrugged, when Dagny tells Rearden that it is going to "cost him" to fuck her. lol To the true objectivist, everything is a commodity.

  • @DrMotorDude

    thanks, Doc

  • @jcfbell3001 Indeed. Parasites are found at both ends of the spectrum.

  • man Phillip Rearden is a slimy little freeloading git, I'm looking foward to the part where Henry gives him a piece of his mind
