"It is my sincere hope that [Obama] decides to wind down and end this war ... Yesterday, Larry, that story in the New York Times about how the brother of the President of Afghanistan -- the brother of Karzai -- is suspected of being involved in the opium trade, which funds the Taliban -- and our CIA pays this man? So we're paying the guy who's helping to create the money that's funding the Taliban that's killing our soldiers? Are we, like, an insane country? When is this going to stop? I want this ended. I want these troops home. ... You're either going to go all out and fight a big war that can't be won, or you're going to bring the troops home and focus on the problems that we have right now ..." -- Michael Moore

  • I just read a news article today where it said Obama is planning to send 30,000 to 35,000 additional more troops into Afghanistan to bring our total number of troops in the country to 100,000.

Yes, Afghanistan has become "Obama's war", "Obama's Vietnam", and we may get stuck there for a decade or so fighting a war we can't win.

President Obama, Please Bring our troops home now !

  • MM is, sadly, better informed than many of the politicians who are running this country. Because of the political games in DC, Obama is going back on campaign promises... one after another. So disappointing. Unfortunately, he cannot keep all those promises by his own authority, but has to work within a crooked system. In the end, it's all about making the rich richer.

We have no business in Afghanistan, other than the business of obtaining the oil of the middle east.

  • why are we still in afghanistan?

  • It's funny that this video is almost 2 years old and nothing's changed or improved in Afghanistan. Either the U.S. troops and their allies are complete failures at their mission, or this was planned to be an occupation right from the start. I believe it's the latter.

  • @laetiti1985 I am sorry, but he has been a sellout since day 1. His biggest campaign contributor was Goldman Sachs and when he got into power he took billions in loans in the name of the USA tax payers and gave the money to Goldman Sachs. The entire media in the Western World is controlled by the elitists. The media will not give publicity to and back a candidate if he isn't a sellout from day 1. He never intended to end the wars. We were lied to.

  • 2 years later it is Obama's war.

Both the political parties in the USA are controlled by the elitists. There is no hope for the USA if there isn't a political revolution.

  • WOW, do I really hear good things from Michael Moore at the end there?

All Republicans, vote Democrat every election now on if you want to see less of him.

  • I think obama is not a sellout but doesn't have all power to change things coz businessmen and politicians don't want to see the change and even in his own party people gonna stop him t change the things

  • For every american solder that is dying in afghanistan, 10 to 100 or maybe more afghan people and children die.

  • People like Moore only want to point fingers. Suddenly its a bad thing that we want to eleminate terrorists. And on top of that people think that war would be better without troops are wrong cuz then the terrorists and exteamists would continue to kill everyone and eachother like they have for thousands of years.

  • i wonder if he still loves obama now....

  • @DawnLaurene and pipe lines its as adam smith once said (i dont believe in his philosophy as a whole) but he said the principle architects of policy are the merchants and businessmen who are now the "corps" make sur ethey use government to make sure the state does what they want not matter how grievious the effect on the others ! now those views are called marxist or socialist or anarchist i dont why!
