(Please watch to the end to see what "Water's Edge" will look like.)

The deeply saddening desecration of Tenby's magical and beautiful South Beach, with the commencement of construction of the incongruous, urban-style Water's Edge development. Planning permission for this "monstrosity", as people are calling it, was granted by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.

Appllication for this development was made by Powell Dobson (the architects) on behalf of Opco Construction Limited - of Cardiff. Opco are the developers, but are hiding behind the front companies: "Mandaco 538 Limited", and "Wanchai Developments".

The most tragic thing to happen to Tenby.

  • A high impact development in a sensitive and supposedly protected area. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, as the planning authority, you have failed in your duties.

  • Gordon Bennet. This film is so rubbish. It's really boring like with yellow diggers and whale noises everything. No I won't be hiring this video out and that's for sure. I don't even recognise any of those actors. This is really beat budget stuff. The dialog is surely foreign too.

  • @trialsbiker42. Site was in dire need of redevelopment but these structures are unsympathetic and over imposing. A little more thought and consultation at the planning stage is what appears to be missing here.

  • @crockett207 So you'd rather what was there before?

  • It isn't going to be a building site forever, and you'd rather what was there before? A derelict cafe and shops?! Put your head back up your arse, people like you are the ones that stop things changing. That place before looked bloody awful!

  • @LloydyHill yeah it does look good.i have been coming to tenby for many years now since i was very small but i think u shud remember that tenby relies on us ppl to keep ur wages benifits shopping centres built!!with out us 50,000 turning up every year ud struggle to get an oxfam built mate.so remember what ur sayin if u like ur town the way it is.

  • Stop winging I think it looks good people! Tenby deserves more buildings and More people here as there is only roughly 5,000 Locals and in the Summer rising up to 50,000! I would much rather local people here than Holiday Makers they do my head in!

  • I am just about to go there for a week. This has made me feel sick to my guts.Is this going to set the precedent for future exploitation of this wonderful town??

  • How did the stupid council in your area get away with this? Who was the stupid person at the National Park thinking of giving permission for this?

    Total madness.

  • "Like" is the wrong term, I like the video but hate its content.
