This is exactly the same video as my last one, but with an extra goodie added, through fade and opacity, which slightly changes the video to affect how we as people perceive the available dynamic range.

While I do suggest watching this in HD, the advantages of this method are very evident in Standard-Def....as you'll see once every piece is put together at the end, alot of the fog and aberrations caused by filming, compression, re-compression, etc. seem to lift.

  • It's just a bit of bleed from objects being moved between shots....I've actually found tools within Gimp that can be a little less intrusive, although it's for images, so I'll have to script it all....hopefully I'll display some improvements in workflow within a couple months....this one in particular was a very early experiment, and I've moved forward to full non-ghosted movement since then....hopefully the next thing I post will have good focus, color, range, etc..

  • Very interesting. What is causing the noise in the paper (lower left corner)? Is that the "apparent dynamic range" adjustment?
