This is a video of our annual salmon fishing reunion. This is the Yurok Reservation in Northern California. You will find there is a lot more than salmon to focus on. Check out the bear encounter.

Nothings ganna change my world, this video really affected me. Netted Salmon and a dead Mama Bear. Heart breaking!! I am a salmon Fisherman myself a lil on the heavy side but i make my own spear pole and actually HUNT the few entitled to me... I avoid bears, they have a right to live just like you and I. very depressing

My pleasure - glad you liked it. It was fantastic. My colleague (who had an office just down the hall) was very impressed with the size Salmon we caught. He goes fishing in the same general area - so he could appreciate the beauty and simplicity of the place too.

Hope that the dead bear was not those cubs mom :( Oh & that was a really nice fish.. would have been even nicer if you would have actually caught it & not just simply pulled it out of a huge net. That's what I call abusing our natural resourses!

Hi - I am not sure if you are familiar with Native American fishing but nets are part of a long cultural tradition. There is an art and science to using them. I would recommend reading more about this tradition before calling it abuse. I understand your concern when you look at this out of context but please take some time to respect a long cultural tradition that you are seeing here. Thanks
