although people dog on tashika for causing more problems, I can see why in her point of view that it isn't fair. She technically doesn't have to know how to put in cabinets and hardcore carpentry if when she gets her own show she'll have people do it for her...
but the other reason why people hate her is because she always acts fake, and her personality seems like an act to get the judges to like her...

@osensei2987 I completely agree.. and the fact that the majority of these people don't even have a degree or can legally call themselves Interior Designers just bugs me to no end!

i just love this show, and learn alot. the participants should have realized sets of
different skills were necessary. Should have done their homework/prep work. Im
old but would love to learn design.

Exactly. I mean she's 29, plus, she's a designer not a carpenter. It's like you say, they're expected to know basics, but not full on carpentry work.

This show is a failure because it puts young inexperienced designers in pressure situations that are unrealistic for shock value. The result is that more failed designs are produced than successes. People watch Home shows to see good designs and get ideas and inspiration not to watch amateurs fail. I would rather see great designers slug it out w/ great designs than to see some young kid crying under pressure!

And Vern ripped off a whole damn show! Remember the Carpenter from Trading Spaces with the goofy hair? He had a show on ABC that was based on remodeling the homes of deserving ppl that had done great things in their communities! That's where Vern ripped off the idea of "Deserving Design" from! And he wants to criticize Tashika for ripping off a light box? Hell, he stole the idea for his whole damn show!

The thing is Tashika wasn't good at doing the grunt work. But what ppl refuse to admit is that the stupid ass show is unrealistic in the first damn place! Most designers have carpenters and subcontractors doing this stuff on their own shows! When was the last time you saw Candace Olson taping off a damn wall or with a paint brush in her hands? And Genevieve definately doesn't do grunt work because her ass stays pregnant 90% of the time!

what a train wreck. Everyone just blamed Toshika for everything, she messed up a lot, but the backlash against her had a lot to do with her not making it.
