In locations throughout California your sisters and brothers are joining together to send an important message to their employer. For decades, the Union has negotiated scores of contracts, but it has become evident that these current negotiations are among the most challenging in our history.

Our bargaining team is working tirelessly to find solutions to these challenges and we're doing everything within our power to negotiate a good contract that protects your wages, benefits and working conditions.

Unfortunately, our bargaining sessions haven't been going as well as we would like. The employers recently submitted a proposal that simply does not meet the standards you, your coworkers and your families require. That's why we're asking you to give us the momentum we need at the bargaining table that only comes from an overwhelming, if not unanimous, strike vote in support of your bargaining team.

Voting yes does not mean that we will go on strike tomorrow or any time. What it does mean is that your employer will know, without a doubt, that your negotiators will have the solid backing of the 70,000 UFCW members in Southern California and they will understand that continuing their course of ignoring your needs simply won't be tolerated.

We're not being unreasonable. We have every intention of negotiating a contract that is fair and equitable for both you and the employer. What the company needs to understand is that they owe their success and their profitability to you, your hard work and professionalism. They can not expect to push us around without feeling the consequences. As you make your voice heard please know that you have the unshakable support of your sisters and brothers throughout our jurisdiction, and they have a message for you.

WE ARE ONE UNION!

This isn't the first time and it won't be the last time that we face difficult challenges, but I'm certain of one thing. By remaining united and working together we will achieve a contract we can all be proud of.

Thanks for proving once again, SOLIDARITY WORKS!
