This song is mine. I'm proud to be an American.

You speak truth.
I have been poor.
It's not nice. I am Australian. At age eleven, my brother and I crawled into the fields, dug up potatoes, stole beans and corn, not for long, just about two weeks, it was not a good time.
We had NO money.
So we worked.
My brother and me on a horse drawn milk wagon, we were twins, 14, it was easy friday night at 03:30 to 08'00 saturday morning, at every 'whistle' the horse would stop, we'd refill and run to each house, delivering milk.

The first ten seconds of this vision are superbly awesome!. Truly. The fingers that do their work on the instrument, literally, in concert with the sound, is more than just that, it, the fingers, the movements, ....the sound, their movement, is pure visual and audible beauty.
Utterly.

This song is not as good as the British second anthem, "Rule Britannia!"

On the Hot Augst Album, when Neil says" Tree people,I singing for you too" I was in one of the trees at the Greek. this song speaks of the promise, the hope, the dreams, not of the free handouts so many want/demand today. America needs her immagrants, to refresh that dream, the hope, She is a nation of Laws, not of Men.
great song, thanks for posting. i would pay a lot of money to see neil diamond in concert.
