"Shit Men Say to Men Who Say Shit to Women on the Street" was inspired by International Anti-Street Harassment Week.

It was created by a group of women and men in NYC who believe that street harassment is wrong, and that we all have a role to play in ending it - especially us guys.

The video shows non-violent some ways that men can interrupt street harassment as it happens. (And it happens all the time. Seriously. Go check. We will wait.)

Join us by sharing this video. And the next time you witness street harassment - and you will - say some shit. Please.

Well my point is exactly that the US doesnt have such a law. And as for the rest of your comment I'll admit im not too well versed as to what components factor into the statistics so I can't really comment on any of that

Just ask yourself who is profiting from quota laws?

It is upper middle to upper class women, precisely the group that mostly pushes for it. This is not about equality, it is about furthering their agenda and careers.

So even if you are right, the approach taken at the moment wouldn't be better (actually worse, because people feel like being on a leash) and if you're wrong the approach is simply horrible.

People tend to organize in small groups (circle of friends, families, etc) and feel responsible for them. No one organizes himself on a global scope by such unimportant things as gender. So why should society be built up like that?

A daughter will always be more important to a father than some random guy.

But in any case. Just assuming you are right and that all the behaviour was trained during the last centuries. What should that mean for legislation?

The proper way to do would still be to let the people do what they want, not to force them to do stuff by making things harder, wouldn't it? After all, if you're right, the "original" situation would reappear within a few generations, so it would be okay. And everyone would have acted according to their free will.

My grandmother (who happened to be the wife of a butcher) was perfectly able to run everything by herself, and sometimes she had to. But it was more efficient when my grandparents separated the work they did. But she was certainly more able to do any such work than 99% of the modern feminists who claim that this is all discrimination.

Oh, and when she was a kid it was common to give poppy seeds to the children, so both parents could work the fields undistracted

I don't think that women where told that they shouldn't do things to that extent. In fact, the wife of a butcher was butchering herself if it was needed, so she needed to be trained (that goes with most jobs).

It was just that the more dangerous work was usually done by men, but that was merely to minimize risk for women, not to subjugate them. And when there was no man around, the women were quite capable of doing things.

Well, maybe these people are not the true feminists by your definition, but the manifesto is not rejected officially in any big organization. It is merely discussed (with contras and pros!!). I find this perverse; it is like claiming to be against racism and then saying that Hitler had some good points, he just went a bit to far (well, sorry for the analogy, he always seems to pop up :D).

In Sweden, e.g., there is even a theater group that adapted it as a play for school children...

Hey, well, at least where I come from a law that says people have to be paid the same is in effect since 50 years, I suppose in the US it is not much different, You will always get to the point where people can negotiate their contracts, but there are many things one can fight for? E.g. if you go to your boss-to-be and propose a contract with 100000$ pa and 15 days off and I ask for 110000$ and 8 days off, who has the better deal? Such stuff is not reflected at all in the stats...

Wow, your sense of entitlement here is AMAZING. "Let me get the last word in, and stop pointing out holes in my argument! I don't care for you, so you should SHUT UP!"

Please, try to find a less self-centred perspective on the world. In fact, look on youtube for "PIOUS PRIUS DRIVER", because you remind me of that guy.
