solar and wind are great and needed as a source of electricity, however we need transportation fuel ! Going to power a jet on solar or wind? how about a big rig shipping food to your grocery store ?

Some might argue that we can use clean coal technology to ensure that emissions from additional coal use are kept at a minimum; but how can we guarantee that when the current administration and EPA has a hard enough time getting coal fired plants to use the technology NOW? And because Bush has his hands in the pockets of coal interest groups, he doesn't exactly try to twist their arms to reduce their air emissions. That doesn't even begin to address the issue of increased mountain top removal.
