This was good, but I have to agree with perrymyers100. MGM had many big hits after Thalberg's death and did pretty well during WWII as well. Read Scott Eyman's"Lion of Hollywood," a biography of Louis B. Mayer, for a more thorough history of MGM.

Technically, this was well done. It was a nice effort and I liked the clever use of clips. But when you went from the death of Irving Thalberg right to the threat TV posed for the studio you skipped the golden age of MGM for a blow by blow account of the fighing over its corporate corpse.
A closer looki at the classic films of the 1930s to the early 1950s would have been more interesting that the doings of Kirk K. and Ted Turner.

Mr. Mayer has been severely criticized. Some of it must be true. But we judge the tree by the fruit it bears. And the lion roars.
