@ccthedragon too bad ashihara hideyuki passed away in 1995 by ALS.and most of old shihan from ashihara karate also brokeaway like ninomiya joko...nobody knows how he got ALS,but maybe his DNA got damaged by atomic bomb.he was born in hiroshima 1944.he said almost everybody in his village died because of atomic bomb.
@ccthedragon in the original, kyokushin do allow punch to the face which make the art so hardcore and force many student to widthraw from the dojo, so oyama change the rules, the reason no punch to the face is because fighting with bare knuckles is very important to get use to a real fight, now we have daido juku but it still protect a little bit
i totally agree with what u said. as strog as some kyukushinkai techniques are ( mostly done at close range which also is a bit handicap) the missing of straight face punch makes it sport and unrealistic at fight scene. karate needs to update face guaard tech indeed, and boxing and kickboxing do have proper guards as well as punches. thank you for your reply. oss.
early 1983 or so.yes ashihara hideyuki was student of mas oyama kyokushin karate founder.he broke away from kyokushin karate because kyokushin no longer teaches face punch,no grabbing,no attack to back etc... karate need to update to face guard tech i think
great series. knows anybody when this film was shooted? yr styke is fast, versatile and reminds the roots of real karate. some others budo styles have passed in interest but not always on skill.
however, the face guard in karate is weak; if you are not fast enough, you will get hit by skillfull opponent. thats why for eg kick boxing has better protection , but slower than this type of karate. osu!
@ccthedragon what kinda puches you talking about?
