LARIZA GARCIA-TANGALIN: INA NG MGA ALAGAD NG SINING
Lariza Garcia was only six years old when she started plying the streets of Divisoria to sell plastic bags. In highschool, she sold viands and ladies' bags in Baclaran. In college, she was also a working student at the PUP.
All of her hardships paid off when all her five children grew up to be artistically-inclined. Two are seasoned violinists and two are ballerinas. The youngest who's now a fourth grader at the Ateneo is into fencing and also plays the piano.
Through the years, Larisa has built her own house and a row of apartment and bought some vehicles. What's the secret to success of this great mother?
RINA REYES
She is the granddaughter of the 40s star Paraluman, and not surprisingly, she takes after her when it comes to acting on film and theater. She was only nine years old when she first appeared in a movie, 'Class of 1991' where she was nominated for Best Supporting actress.
Rina is also a mom who has two daughters who are also into acting. In fact, she has done a play with one of her kids.
But life, as in her movies, was not always a bed of roses for Rina. Her greatest challenge was when her husband, Ian Reyes, succumbed to lung cancer and she has to support her children on her own.
