You can change that in safari, there is a setting where you can have it always show the tab bar.

Did you erase your cookies/cache before loading nba? Because Safari loaded the files pretty quick

things have changed. Chrome is now the fastest browser on OSX as well as every other OS. Chrome only has one flaw on OSX. They included the damn wrench menu when it's not needed on a Mac.
