Directv has long been known for their horrible customer service. Today was the final nail in the coffin. We were dumb enough to turn my grandparents on to Directv as part of their referral promotion. You know, the one where they claim you can get $100 and they will get $100. Well, they got theirs, but we didnt get ours (its actually a $10/ mo. credit). We called a few months back and they said we would see it on the next bill. We did not. We called again and kept getting the same response. Today, my wife called and asked to speak to a supervisor. After 30 min of waiting on hold, I decided to call from my phone. We kept hers on too, just to see how long it would go. I was able to speak to a supervisor, William, that aplogized for the inconvenience but said that the computer did not show my credit. OBVIOUSLY!!! I asked how to get it, and he said I can't. When I brought up the fact that my grandparents are getting theirs, so I should get mine, he read off his script and aplogized again. I asked to speak to his manager and he said protocol would not allow it, and he was as far as I would get. He told me to write a letter. I asked why my wife was still on hold, and he said "sorry". DIRECTV has a lot of good channels, especially for sports. It seems they got too big to handle their customers, and now there is absolutely ZERO customer service quality. CHECK THIS OUT!

  • Update: We are still with Direct TV. Not by choice by any means! We still dislike them very much but what can you do??

  • This kind of stuff happens everyday I work as a Sup for Directv. There is a ton of people that hate their jobs, and Sup calls and hold like this happens alot. I am sorry you had such a shitty experience.. If you would have got me this would have never happened

  • Ok here's the deal dish or direct is a two year contract dish blows and directv rules we own all the sports hahaha all your gonna get with dish is the lame red zone look were at the ten lol lame and signal wise directv is the best look all you have to know is who's installing your system if its put in shitty its gonna work shitty Sry ppl but any satalite you put in it has to be installed correctly and FYI directv has been number one in customer service for 5 years were the best !!!

  • You talked to the wrong person... retention department is where you want to make the deals. Anyways i have a faster number into Directv where you won't be stuck on hold or bothered by voice activated screens... If your interested write me back.

  • I have the Choice Extra package, which i dont remember exactly how many channels i have, something like 210 i think! well i actually watch maybe 10 channels AT MOST!.....and half of them are like i said paid programming stations, so theres nothing exept infomercials day and night! and the other 100 channels are in Spanish, or Channels from different regions that you can see whats on, but can not watch! Direct TV is in the long run a HUUUUUGE unnecasary Headache! Especially if you have any probs!
