@buckley27kennedy Yeh they had such bad injuries I had to intervene to save their lives Its funny because theyre brothers and used to sleep together and rest heads on each other. They have opposite personalities so I think one was fighting the other. But now seperated, they are both 3 1/2 years old! Dont think it will hurt them much being seperated. Cages are right next to each other and when cleaning they are in the balls next to each other. They havent shown much aging yet they are 3 1/2! :)
@rjksoccer06 That happened to mine today, they've been fine no fighting for over a year now, I thought it was just because spring is coming, but sadly not, theyre separated now and seem to be happy, will get them some toys to play with!
I have 2 Russian dwarf hamsters, 1 fat one and 1 skinny one. The skinny one is adventurous and playful/gentle and tends to get bullied, while the fat one is lazy and tends to start fights. I keep mine in my garage, that's the best place for them (don't worry, my garage is fully heated and insulated to keep my pets safe) I also keep my dogs in there. The reason why mine fight is because they are not 'birth partners/from the same litter' the fat one is from a much bigger litter and the skinny one
Mine lived and loved each other for about a year and a half which is about a half year longer than they are supposed to be together until the fighting got so bad they got bad injuries and i separated them.
if they are both males and were brought up together, then they may have a chance getting along. Try and figure out which one of them is more 'bossy' or has a little more attitude. Have the nicer one live in there while the "meaner" one is rolling in his ball...then put the mean one in so he can get used to the smell of the other one and understand that he lives there. They have territorial problems thats why they fight. If this continues im afraid youll have to seperate them for good.
mine are called Alvin and Thedore , they both started fighting like the 2nd day i got them so ive separated them , i really want them to be friends with each other because i will connect the two cages together so they have one huge cage . can anyone help ? please reply :]
