Warning -- This video uses music from "Star Wars". I would like to thank "Sony Music Entertainment" for letting me use this. This music is not valid for the Space lab competition but the other video without music is valid.

This is an experiment to test the growth of Lactobacillus in space conditions. This experiment will help to see if humans on the ISS and in the future on other planets can create a sustainable environment.
The test will be conducted on the ISS to see if Lactobacillus can produce valuable waste products from the faeces of the people on board. These waste products of the Lactobacillus could be used in the future to create self sustaining ecosystems.
It is important to note the experiment will be done on the ISS and on earth. This will provide a way to see if Lactobacillus has performed better or worse in space conditions.
There will be 8 different conditions Lactobacillus will be put under; 1-Plant matter, 2-Faeces, 3-Plant matter and Faeces, 4-Different temperature to the others which are at room temp. There will be two sets of these one exposed to radiation and one NOT. This will see if increased radiation in space can mutate Lactobacillus like see in the MIR space station with other Bactria.
This experiment will be contained in habitat 3 but it would be better suited to design a new habitat which will be safer as it can kill the Lactobacillus if it grows to fast and gets out of control.
