2010 Florida League Championship Game

This is the 2010 Florida League Championship Game. The update was produced at WDSC in Daytona and was show on WDSC-15 (the local PBS station) throughout the 2010 Summer.

The Florida Collegiate Summer League (Florida League) is a wood bat baseball league with six teams in Central Florida. The league is funded in part by Major League Baseball and is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization primarily dependent on donations from individuals, businesses and foundations in each team's community.

Community involvement is a priority for the Florida League. We partner with local non-profit and civic groups through Community Nights, which provide a venue for interaction with fans. Our partnership with local Boys & Girls Clubs of America led to the formation of the Ken Griffey Jr. Youth League, where our players and coaches teach baseball while operating a summer-long league at various clubs.

Founded in 2003, the Florida League gives 162 college players, local and nation wide, the opportunity to compete. The League also provides positions for 21 coaches, and 28 summer internships for college students and recent graduates. Moreover the Florida League has positioned itself at the highest level of pre-professional amateur baseball in America with every player's goal to one day make a professional baseball roster.
