This is what I'm starting to think of as classic Obama. He takes an issue that people are upset about and want action on, conflates it with another issue that nobody cares about but is politically easy to work with, and then pledges to fix the issue that no one cares about.

I think he thinks he's being clever, but he's not fooling anyone.
