Sorry Kev, I'd somehow missed your reply. I've had a couple of fish around the 2 pound mark this year, and that is considered very good. Most fish around 10"-12" mark; the joy in catching them is being able to get a cast in under the overhaging trees.

Great fishing Kevin. Like the 'bow-and-arrow' cast! Your little stream is reminiscent of the wee stream I fish here in North Yorkshire; I have a 7 foot rod which just about gives me enough room to get a side-cast in. That last fish you caught would break the record here!

@struck2soon really mate? there's plenty of little waterways in NZ that contain good fish, it makes for interesting angling in my view, what is your heaviest fish from up there?
