Our team decided to confront the usability problem of an ATM machine. We decided to try and re-envision the way people would prefer to use ATM's. We used a user centered design model to inspire our new interface for an ATM. We focused on five tasks during the redesign.
We realized privacy is a major concern of users of current ATM machines. Another concern we had was the time required for a user to complete a task. We believe our ATM design helped to better facilitate ATM users in completing their transactions. We believe that we have followed all of Nielson's usability factors in our designing. Our testing has shown that this design is easier for learnability. Overall we observed users being able to perform tasks easier and more efficiently under our design and with fewer errors. We also used feedback from testing to correct design flaws.
