  • Ran for less than a minute, and mostly at idle. Head temp never got over about 120.

    Happy to report that the engine (now with lower unit) runs like a raped ape, and is pushing the pictured fish-n-ski at 30+ MPH, and has been for about 12 hours of water time.

    IOW: Your concern, while touching, was unwarranted. The test above was a calculated risk with a relatively low chance of hurting anything.

  • i have had boat moters run till thay heat seaze watied for them to cool down and never had an issue with them i cant see what you did remotley hurt that engine

  • So, without the lower unit in place (therefore no water pump), exactly how are you cooling the powerhead? Or are you *trying* to melt a piston?
