In 1996 Nasenbluten made the limited edition single "Anna Wood" on vinyl through the Dead Girl label, as a commentary on the moral panic in the press surrounding rave parties after the death of Anna Wood. Her ecstacy related death brought about a hardline approach to rave and dance parties in Australia. The record was never commercially available and was only distributed by the band itself, featuring a picture of the girl with the phrase "I'm having the time of my life" and a picture of Dutch DJ Paul Elstak on the B side with the words "I wanna see the rainbow high in the sky", a reference to the happy hardcore scene and it's links to ecstacy.

Anna Wood is the Sydney teenager who died while under the influence of the 'designer' drug ecstasy at an all-night rave party. The recent coroner's enquiry determined that the specific cause of death was from the intake of too much water, brought on by ecstasy. Anna's Story is a non-sensationalised account of teenage drug usage, and strips away the transparent glamour of rave/ecstasy parties.

  • THIS SONG IS MAJOR DISRESPCT!

  • Nice song!!!! I hear it here in The Netherlands often @ partys. Sorry about the girl though. Did not know the story behind it. Very sad. But to blame "it" on the drugs and the raves.. not enough water or too much water is often the main reason with the use of mdma. But in Holland, everyone who is just a little bit curious about using drugs, can get info about everything, all over the place! And I do just that. Knowing about the drug(s) you are planning to use, that's a ground rule!!

  • @141glennie did you kill her? sound totally guilty to me. her parents killed rave culture and made loads of money from her death. didn't she fall down a flight of stairs too?

  • @cknate How do you know? Did you even know her?

  • @pugghead Some of us still enjoy it and don't go to raves to score drugs and do pirate jigs.

  • Hey Nasenbluten, GET THE FUCK BACK TOGETHER !!!

  • the sad thing is the mainstream reporter was right rave music was a fad and everything about it does revolve around drug culture

  • @pugghead yes and thanks for proving my point. who cares if it's controversial? it's also funny, important... and nasenbluten.
