Tang Soo Do Master Instructor Tony Pratt demonstrates basic common sense self-defense techniques and teaches strategies for how to employ them. Jeff Woodard and Megan Vandervort assist in the demo while learning these simple defense tactics. The focus is more on the actual release moves rather than the counter attacks. You do need something in terms of offense to go with it. Not included are certain advanced techniques, one of which was developed by Master Pratt is effective in 95% of situations. The reason is because attackers when you do end up having to fight them always do the same thing 95% of the time. What might that be you ask? They try to haul off and punch you in the face. This original martial arts technique is based on Wing Chun and tang Soo Do. Yes, I am writing this description in third person because it sounds better than saying I did this or that. But, I really am tired of people who assault others. My desire is to become a better person and to help others improve themselves, develop confidence etc. It is all about love. I love martial arts and what it does for society. Please let me know by commenting or emailing if god forbid you have to use any of these techniques to defend yourself. And, I would like MMA fighters to think about using these prone techniques for getting up off the floor, unless it is just where you like to be. If so I think you would prefer being on top. Remember you can use the techniques before during or after the opponent attempts to punch you from above. Experiment with the timing. Block and trap those punches and you can get him or her off you pronto! lol Let me know what you think. Note: The local show is edited into two programs Mystery Us #32 & #33
